New Moon In Virgo

Tonight is the New Moon in the constellation of Virgo.

Earth is going through a major transition at the moment. Dark is taking over light, cold is taking over warmth, and death is taking over life as we speed into Autumn. We will be able to see and feel these energies all around us. We can also use these energies of transformation to become what we want to be, to shed our skin and start fresh, & make changes that will improve our lives.

With this New Moon we are essentially working on a blank canvas where our ideas can gestate into reality. We can create the world around us and shape our futures to what we want, we just need to be willing to put in the work. All work done around the Virgo New Moon will pay off and give big rewards. The Virgo New Moon brings attention to the details, allowing you to listen to your conscience, or rather the wise voice from your soul. Look deep within yourself and ask yourself what it is that will make you happy, what will make you feel whole.

Now is the perfect time to push ourselves to get things done, make lists of tasks and tick them off one by one. Virgo is the worker sign and you will get great pleasure from getting jobs done. Do work on your home or start a new project or hobby. There is nothing better than working hard on something, seeing the results, and reaping the rewards of your labor. You can also strengthen your financial foundation. Think big and dream big.

This New Moon is a time for a deep cleansing, to get rid of clutter not just in the home, but emotional clutter. Let the power of the Moon cleanse your spirit. Move to a place of allowing and acceptance. Set your intention for what you want to create this fall. Stay out of negative thinking. Instead ask, ‘What supports my balance?‘ Don’t project out into the future. You are not there yet. You can scare yourself with the ‘What if’s.’ Stay present. The past is history, the future is a mystery, the present is the gift. Your power and effectiveness are in the here and now.

Have a blessed New Moon & may the Goddess watch over you.

Full SuperMoon In Pisces

Tonight’s Full Moon will be a SuperMoon. The SuperMoon not only affects nature such as the tides and wildlife, but it also affects us. Our emotions will be heightened, our senses will be sharp, things that were hidden or in the shadows can now be seen.

The August Full Moon is known as the Sturgeon Moon because this was the time when wild sturgeon and salmon would be hunted in the rivers. It is also known as the Corn Moon, as this is a time of the corn harvests.

If you have been feeling stuck in a situation or that everything has been standing still lately, get ready because this Full Moon will be bringing with it a wind of change. The whole of earth is going through a massive transition. Summer is fading and Autumn is coming in, leaves are starting to change color and falling from trees, plants and flowers are dying and seeding the earth for next Spring. But at the same time, crops in fields are flourishing with the harvest, fruit is now at its most ripe. We will feel this energy of transformation, we should use it to help transform ourselves into what we want to be.

The Full Moon is in the constellation of Pisces. The time is potent to follow our hearts to create new pathways. There is a simultaneous shedding and emerging as we focus to ground our visions into form. Some deep emotional changes are happening as well so we must move with the changes, allow wants to come forth, and trust our inner knowing and guidance.

Your enthusiasm, idealism, and creativity could be at an all-time high. You could be bursting with new ideas. You could have sudden insights. You can move from breakdown to breakthrough. You are experiencing a transformation in consciousness.

Sometimes your growth can feel weird and strange when you are no longer connecting to your past. But truly, the old way of living no longer works for you. You are experiencing new aspects of yourself and life. You are giving birth to the new you, and giving birth is painful. This is real work. This is real growth. There is so much to celebrate. Realize that to live out new, promising visions, there’s a need to restructure. A new vision of the future will be illuminated, and it is up to you what you do with it.

Most of all, tonight’s SuperMoon will be about healing. Let the waves of Pisces psychic energy wash over you, cleansing you of negative thoughts and feelings. Let go of the past and welcome in the future. This is the harvest and it is time to start reaping what we have sown, your hard work will start paying off. Take the gifts life offers you and make the most of them.

Have a Blessed Full Moon. May the Goddess watch over you.

New Moon In Leo

newmooninleo

Tonight is the New Moon in Leo. We welcome this shift of creative and passionate energy that this New Moon will bring us.

The Leo New Moon is about power, it is about taking control of our lives and pushing ourselves further than we thought we could go. True power is living and acting from who we really are and what we really want. When we express our passions and our joys without apology or fear, we are being our true self and this is where happiness comes from, don’t hold back. Be creative and let your creative juices flow, take a walk on the wacky side of life and get out of your comfort zone. If you stay in the same place and keep doing the same things you will never move on from where you are.

All the inner work you have focused on this year will now be the foundation for bringing more power, love, and energy into your life in this creative, forward-moving period. Leo is about leadership, when the Moon is in this sign it means standing in the center and receiving all the universe is ready to gift you, so you can then open your hands, heart, and take your universal gifts. This is a particularly lucky New Moon, so don’t be afraid to go for the things you want, lady luck is shining on you now.

Leo is the sign of ambition, so think big and dream big as this New Moon is going to give you much-needed energy and a boost of luck. Go for things you may not have had the courage to go for before. Ask for that pay rise, go for the job you thought you would never get, make home improvements, push your boundaries a little, and ask for more.

This New Moon we will be feeling emotional as fiery Leo brings with it strong passion and intense feelings. Our smallest emotions can feel magnified. Don’t repress these emotions, let them out, feel them, and use them to guide you as they are our truths.

On this New Moon we can truly bring in change, and transform ourselves to be who we want to be. We will feel braver and more confident than usual. Luck will be on your side, we will have renewed energy to complete tasks and get things done. The fire of Leo is burning brightly now, let the flames burn away any negativity. Be positive and open yourself up to allow the good to come in to your life.

Have a blessed New Moon & may the Goddess watch over you.

Blue Moon

blue-moon-tree
Tonight is a Blue Moon. The Blue Moon occurs when there are 2 Full Moons within the same month. The name Blue Moon comes from an ancient word which is “Belewe Moon”, meaning Betrayer Moon. Monthly Moon phases were each given names to prepare for various types of weather and crop rotations, so the extra Full Moon in a month would confuse people, thus giving it the name Betrayer Moon.Tonight’s Full Moon is rising in the constellation of Aquarius. There is so much happening around this Moon in terms of once-in-a-lifetime type chances. It’s as if we are all on the edge of something so big and we have to make the decision to take the path we’ve always taken, or jump into the territory of new possibilities.

This Full Moon in Aquarius is about celebrating our individuality, our little quirks that make us different from everybody else. Let your creativity come out. Do something a little different, dress a little differently, wear your hair a little differently, rebel against the norm. Take a walk on the weird side of life.

Our minds will be clear and uncluttered, we will be able to see things as they really are, we can take off our rose-colored glasses and take a good look at ourselves and the world around us as it is, not how we want it to be. This will also have us asking ourselves if we are happy with where we are and what we’re doing.

moon-blueAs amazing as this Moon will be, and necessary, it’s going to be one that challenges us on every single level. In the build up to this lunar event we may have been feeling restless, or have had an excess of nervous energy. Our pulses may have been racing, and it may have been harder for us to relax or fall asleep at night. Our spirits can sense that we are on the verge of something big, but it’s up to us to initiate change. We are on the threshold of having massive pieces of the puzzle collide.
There may be big changes or upsets in the status quo during the next several weeks. We may find ourselves acting in ways that only a few weeks ago, we never thought possible, but Aquarius is lighting a fire inside of our hearts and daring us to break the boundaries that have held us back for far too long.

While we may feel anxious at all of the possible changes being presented to ourselves, know that the universe won’t bring us anything we aren’t ready for. The truth of it is there is no such thing as the perfect time, so now is as good a time as any.

Everything that we have been going through the past year has been leading up to this Moon. It’s the time of infinite possibilities, of desires bubbling over and manifesting themselves in our lives in ways we never thought possible. No matter what has come in or out of our lives in the past few years, once in a while we are given the chance to have everything we’ve always wanted, we just have to make the choice now to not let it go.

Because certain chances only come around once in a Blue Moon.

Imbolc Blessings

ib-2015
Credited to me-tal DEVIANT ART

Happy Imbolc fellow Wiccans and/or Pagans. Happy Groundhog Day for everyone else in the Western Hemisphere. One Groundhog saw its shadow and the other did not. With wintery weather currently affecting so many, myself included, it’s not an immense stretch to believe that we’ll have six more weeks of winter. The weird thing? The bunnies in my yard and the birds that have already begun nesting in my trees, which does lead me to believe that maybe that six weeks will be shortened. I suppose only time will tell.

The Need For Silence

Tomorrow is Samhain, which is Halloween for the uninitiated who can’t even pronounce what I just said. I’ve taken some time this week to be quiet, to look deeply within, and to give myself some space. Every year brings a new set of challenges, and I am hoping to embark on happier ones this time around. Simply put: I am sick of the crap. Every last ounce of it. I’m ready for positive change, happy change, and I am looking forward to putting a lot of unhappiness and negativity to rest.

My only plan for tomorrow is to try hard to finish the read-through I am doing, and catch up on some little things that need to be put in the mail. Beyond that, nothing. I want a quiet day, I want to light candles at dusk, and I want a night of quality sleep. I don’t need scary movies to “get into the spirit”. I’ve already seen Sons of Anarchy and Stalker this week, I’ve had my dose of gore and I’ve been thoroughly ‘creeped out’.

It probably seems odd for someone so young to be in such desperate need of silence, but it’s honest. I already bought sweets this week and they were for myself. Okay, so I shared, but you get the point. The actual Halloween aspect doesn’t reside in my home. Samhain, on the other hand, does. It’s when I honor my loved ones who have passed away and light candles of remembrance. It’s when I keep my cats close to me and SAFE. I don’t believe in having outdoor cats, I never have and I never will. That is a personal choice because I believe that if you are going to have any kind of pet, you should do what is absolutely best for him/her and their overall well-being. When you rescue, you should give them a safe home. Last year there was a lot of concern over black cats being harmed. I own an all-black British Bombay who is the sweetest, most laid back little girl, so it’s even more important to me to keep her safe and sound. I don’t ever want my cats to know “the street life” again, which is precisely why I adopted them. You save a life, but you also save bits of yourself in the process.

Also, I have a very dear friend in the hospital, and I want to make sure I say a special prayer for her recovery. I’m breaking out the big guns on this one! 🙂

So, if there isn’t another post this month, enjoy the holiday however you choose to embrace it and keep yourself and those you hold dear safe & sound.

Bright Blessings.

A Good Night’s Sleep

Four solid hours of sleep, edited four pages for a potential client, and just found out a few minutes ago that I have the job. Yay!

Tonight is the start of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year (Believe it or not, I know plenty of people who don’t know this, so that is why I said it.). While not the world’s most observant Jewess, especially when you factor in that I am also Wiccan, the New Year always helps me get spiritually centered for what’s to come.

Life is a fucking battlefield on so many levels, and it is true: Only the strong survive. In this, sometimes I wish I didn’t have to be so damn strong. It would be nice to occasionally kick back and let someone else handle the crap. Alas, if you want something done right, you’d better do it yourself.

I won’t be celebrating traditionally or with a house full of family, but I will have two people with me to help me honor my ancestry, and I have friends who will be lighting candles from their end to help me out.

From me to all of you, whether you celebrate or not, may the coming year bring you an abundance of sweetness & serenity. 🙂 L’Shana Tovah!

Availability

I will be a little less present here over the next few days. Today is Mabon (the Autumnal Equinox), and Rosh Hashanah begins tomorrow evening. I then have my brother’s birthday to contend with, which apparently involves me cooking him “something good” (If only I knew my track record would catch up with me! LOL. I keep saying “Wouldn’t you rather get something from someplace or go out?” only to be told “No, I want you to cook me something awesome.”, and then he lists 15 different potential things I should apparently make all at once. Poor kid, he’s in a total dream world with expectations like that!). It’s rare that the holidays all fall out on top of one another, but I am taking full advantage of it this week by seeking some serenity and allowing myself to feel spiritually centered. I will still post tidbits, but I might not do any extensive writing until the weekend, or maybe even next week.

Wishing you all a peaceful, even-keeled day. If you’re lucky enough to be experiencing Fall weather, like I am, take the time to enjoy it, because I strongly suspect we’ll be getting an early Winter.

Blessed Be~ Lisa
