Lisa Marino has covered a wide array of genres and subject matter, acquiring the nickname “Miss Poison” along the way.

“Poison In Lethal Doses” originated in 1995, has been published in the confines of many a publication, and continues on today in its typical “No holds barred” fashion. The originator of the pen dipped in poison… The analogy can mean a myriad of things, but it is always accurate.

A born & raised native of New York City, she currently resides in a suburb north of Boston near the ocean. She is of Argentine, Belarusian, British, Bulgarian, Czech, French, German, Greek, Israeli, Italian, Lithuanian, Mongolian, Polish, Romanian, Russian (Jewish Autonomous Oblast and the Sakha Republic), (Tribal) Siberian, Sicilian, Spanish, and Ukrainian ancestry. She identifies as Jewish Asian-Latina, but will not denounce any of her additional ancestry, some of which was discovered via genetic testing for health and medication purposes. Testing was done twice to verify both DNA and mDNA.

Her works in progress include a series of dark urban fantasy novels with historical fiction & mythology at the heart, a romance novel which is genre-specific, and a psychological thriller, all of which are a challenge to her comfort zone. One is being finalized for mass market publication. She tackles subjects outside that realm for regular posts. Facts, not fiction, are her first love within the world of words. She is also an experienced freelance editor.

She is real, snarky, direct, about as subtle as Thor’s Hammer, and refuses to hold back. “I wasn’t born to be boxed in.”

You can find her surrounded by books, water, music, a cat or two, and her laptop.

Scorpio by birth, Moon Child by choice. Fierce Fibro Warrior.

Cat (Not Her Real Name) is a British Bombay with gold eyes. She is, quite possibly, the sweetest cat you’ll ever meet.

Kitten (Also, Not Her Real Name) is a Tortoiseshell. You cannot see it in this photo, but her eyes are several different shades of green, mint being the most predominant shade. It’s like looking into an opal. Her personality matches that of her owner. 😉

  1. Lisa,

In a felting group on Facebook I was lucky enough to come across your quote regarding the “3 Laws of Art” and adore it. I am teaching my first felting class this weekend and wondered if I may quote your “3 Laws” quote to the class. Basically it would be your quote and citing Coldpress 2015 as your original quote does on an 81/2 x 11 sheet of paper in a clear frame at the front of the “classroom”. (I say “classroom” as the location is the front of a wool co-operative warehouse located in Carleton Place, Ontario Canada)
For the record, Law #1 is my favourite.
I appreciate your consideration of my request

    Have a great day
    Cheers,
