This is true for pretty much any illness or disease that people cannot see. I find that this translates big time.

This is disgustingly real. There are doctors in many states that will refuse to treat you if you’re ten pounds “overweight”. They don’t treat you as a person, they treat you like a number on the scale that somehow makes them feel superior. It is unacceptable behavior. Don’t EVER be afraid to get a second, third, or even fourth opinion. You are your own best advocate for your health. If a doctor is disrespectful, find one who has their shit together. Don’t pay anyone who cannot treat you like a human-being.

Actually, I hear the words and the tone and I am not misinterpreting the additional shit that isn’t being verbalized.
I am always told “But you don’t look sick, you look amazing.” I highly suspect these people are blind.

This is such a great article, so I thought I’d share it.
I’m incredibly non-traditional because I am a practitioner of two religions. Monotheism and polytheism don’t mesh well together because the beliefs cancel each other out here and there, but because I was raised with Kabbalistic teachings, I make it work. I would never abandon one for the other and 100% consider myself of both faiths. One you’re born into or you’re not, and the other is a choice. I think it’s important for people to choose their own path and do what is right for them, so long as they aren’t harming anyone else in the process.

Has anyone tried this?
Savella has been on the market for years, so I don’t, by any means, consider it “new”. I don’t know how comfortable I’d be with Xyrem, but we’ll see what happens once it’s FDA approved. Sadly, I am afraid it will be abused by people who do not suffer from Fibromyalgia or any form of chronic pain, and that is worrisome to me. Still, I’d be happy if it is able to help some of us.

This is incredibly helpful and informative for anyone who thinks natural is the way to “cure” their migraines.
Mine are often worse during the warmer months. I’m more stable during Fall, but migraines can still strike at any given moment and I can definitely tell when the pressure is changing. Does anyone else experience an upswing in their migraines once the weather starts getting colder?
I legitimately believe that Fibromyalgia, for me, began around age six and progressively worsened in my late teens. I might never be able to prove it, but at least now, I know the signs so that future generations don’t have to suffer or be told they “just have growing pains”. I’ve been tested like a science experiment since I was eight and I do wonder at times if I’ve been misdiagnosed or if there’s more to Fibromyalgia than doctors will ever realize. It’s important to spread as much awareness as we can.
