Sometimes You Must Be A Wounded Warrior

A friend shared this with me on Instagram. It’s on a bridge in Queens, New York and was captured by Jonny Lee Miller, the incredibly talented actor who plays Sherlock Holmes on Elementary, which airs on CBS.

I have an AMAZING friend who is helping me through a rough time and we’ve talked a lot about transformation and focusing solely on our goals, in order to attract the right people, things, and situations to us. We’ve talked about persistence as I endure the tragic loss of a person who is still alive, but who has permanently damaged the relationship I once thought unbreakable.

Maybe that’s why this speaks to me the way it does. Here’s hoping it speaks to you, too.

We Are All Wounded People…

This is completely on point to how I currently feel about various relationships in my life. Thanks to the help of two incredibly caring people, I know that as I grow, other people take issue with it. I understand that as I focus on improving myself and becoming a better version of who I already am, people are threatened by it. It’s sad when the people who encouraged you to get help are now the same people insulting you for prioritizing your health above all else. Yeah, that’s my sin of the fucking century!

I Love It When…

I love it when a friend says, “I’ve got your back.”, and truly means it. I love it when someone says, “I will ride this out with you or I will die with you trying.”, and they keep the promise. Some women don’t know how to be solid friends, and that is a enormous character flaw as far as I’m concerned. Not everyone is born to give 110% to anyone other than themselves, and women like that are not the kind I want in my life.
