A Caturday of Silence

With all the unrest going on, I hope someone gets a smile or chuckle out of these. Laughter is good medicine.

A little humor, and my two supervisors. I report to them multiple times a day. 😉

My cats have a unique way of blending into their surroundings and, on occasion, freaking me out with their weirdness. I have never owned a normal cat. I always get the weird ones, the bossy ones, the ones that shriek because they can’t see me or find me, and are therefore, high maintenance. I would laugh if I could, but it’s been a ROUGH week. Sometimes, cats make things better or happier. My British Bombay tumbling around on fresh catnip and then getting calm and sleepy was one of the better moments of the week. My little Tortie chewed on some catnip and fell asleep within minutes. I watched her eyes droop right before she put her head down. Catnip is supposed to be a stimulant.
So, everything smells like catnip and I’m having trouble sleeping. P.S. Dried catnip (which happens very quickly when it’s fresh) is a lot like smelling a wet menthol cigarette. I usually say it smells like a locker room, but that’s Valerian root. Bless their sweet, demon child hearts. 😉

I skipped last Saturday’s cat post because I overdid it grocery shopping. When I sit down on the kitchen floor in agony (I actually said, “I can’t do this. I HURT.”) because my pain went uncontrolled for a few hours, that’s not a good sign.
Hopefully, this is funny enough to make up for it.

This year was extremely frightening and traumatizing for my cats. They were terrified in a way I have never seen before and I pray I never see it again. I am outraged by the crap my neighbors pulled. The streets were full of smoke, cars couldn’t get through, and it was a major problem waiting to happen if, G-d forbid, an ambulance or fire truck needed to get through. Visibility was extremely poor. Whatever people are using that sounds like an explosion going off was awful for my own trauma history. I’m actually relieved I have a phone appointment with my doctor next week. This was BAD and continues to be worse with every passing moment.

My cats are behaving oddly. Anyone else? I definitely think they need a vacation from the humans for a while. Or Maybe I need a vacation from them? Not entirely sure.
