She was like a drowning person, flailing, reaching for anything that might save her. Her life was an urgent, desperate struggle to justify her life.” ―Jonathan Safran Foer
You’re My Star
“You’re my Star, a stargazer too, and I wish that I were Heaven, with a billion eyes to look at you!” ―Plato
20th Anniversary of 9/11

It’s all too fresh in my mind, all these years later, to talk about at any length.
There are certain things you will never forget. 9/11 is a piece of history and having lived through it, I feel more at war with my country than I did back then, when I was at my most patriotic. Our leadership is abominable. We’ve learned nothing in twenty years, and it is evident if you scroll through a news feed on any given day. We must do better.
Caring…
“Caring was a thing with claws. It sank them in, and didn’t let go. Caring hurt more than a knife to the leg, more than a few broken ribs, more than anything that bled or broke and healed again. Caring didn’t break you clean. It was a bone that didn’t set, a cut that wouldn’t close.” ―V.E. Schwab
