We Can Ignore…

“We can ignore even pleasure. But pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world…. No doubt pain as God’s megaphone is a terrible instrument; it may lead to final and unrepented rebellion. But it gives the only opportunity the bad man can have for amendment. it removes the veil; it plants the flag of truth within the fortress of the rebel soul.”  ―C.S. Lewis

I was going to write something today, or, at the very least, finish something I’d already started. Unfortunately, pain is screaming through my body and I cannot sit, so it will have to happen another day.

Have a good weekend everyone!

    • Well, I’d jump off my roof if I thought that would help, but I know it won’t.

It’s a cold, rainy day. I’m doing my best.

      Thanks for the well wishes.

      • I know the feeling – the jumpin off the roof thing.
We’re having a cold rainy day too. I’ve stayed in my robe and pajamas all day, and I’ve been taking ‘floppy naps’ while sitting in a chair.
I wish for sun and warmth for you soon 🙂

        • Actually, the sun and warmth are the absolute last things I need. I’m like the Wicked Witch, I might melt.

In all seriousness, I hate the sun and heat makes me really sick. I don’t mind rain and cold at all. There’s always something worse out there.

          • I hope it stays cool for you then 🙂
I actually need fall or spring-like weather conditions to feel comfortable. On top of my current pain situation I also have Grave’s disease (hyper-thyroid) that makes temperature extremes very uncomfortable for me.

            • Fall is my favorite time of year and it’s also when I tend to feel better physically.

My cousin has Graves’. He’s an electrician and plays hockey, so I often wonder how advanced it is, etc. He’s a lot older than I am, but all of my first cousins are.
