As I was struggling/suffering through my afternoon yesterday, a woman started talking to me. She told me she has MS. She and her four sisters were all stricken with the same disease, and one sister had already lost her life to it. I immediately felt like my pain was small in comparison, not that we should ever compare and contrast.
She told me that each of her sisters’ husbands won’t help them with their wheelchairs because “they look perfectly fine”. Sound familiar, anyone?
She mentioned acupuncture, and specifically recommended the person she goes to each month. (A friend also recommended acupuncture to me not that long ago, so it’s not like I was unaware it exists and that it works.) She gave me his card. She said it truly relieves the pain and allows her to function from one appointment to the next.
And so, this quote feels incredibly apropos today.

The doctors at my pain clinic recommended acupuncture as something that might help my pain. Unfortunately, the acupuncturist I was recommended to was doubtful that he could help me because my pain is so severe and the source of it is not yet completely diagnosed.
I hope if you go it helps you 🙂

I’ll let you know. The lady I spoke with said she was certain it would make a difference because this guy specializes in trigger points. That might be the turning point.

I guess that’s the issue for me because my trigger-point is a growth in my pelvis.
Please do let me know how it works out for you. I live vicariously through good things happenin in other people’s lives 🙂

I can ask the acupuncturist if the treatment is possible for you, if you’d like? I know people who get monthly trigger point injections and say they only last three weeks. I was told the acupuncture requires 1-2 visits initially and then monthly visits for upkeep. Clearly it works for people, and some of them actually say they can treat various forms of Chronic Pain. I’ve done Eastern medicine before and it works, but like a prescription, it’s simply a temporary fix.
